OFSTED Parent Questionnaires.

Crocus Fields is inspected every year by Ofsted who award us our overall judgment/rating. Currently Crocus Fields is rated as an Outstanding provision for young people and their families.

Part of the inspection looks at your views as parents who use the service and tries to find out what you think we are doing well at and where we could improve. Some of you may be contacted on the day of the inspection (which could literally be any day between now and the end of December) but to try to capture a wider selection of views Ofsted have put together a questionnaire for parents to complete. This questionnaire is available here .

Ofsted wants to hear your views about Crocus Fields and would like to make you aware it is 100% confidential. The survey is open from 9th July until the 17th August. If you could take some time out of your busy schedule to complete the survey it would be most appreciated.

Go on Ashley!!!!

A huge congratulations must go out to Ashley Saunders who this weekend past completed The Three Peaks Challenge. Ashley, along with six friends scaled the heights of Ben Nevis, Scaefell and Snowdon in a gruelling time of 23 hours 39 minutes leaving them just 21 minutes to spare! Ashley has m

anaged to raise almost £1500 for a Sensory Garden at Crocus Fields which we are very grateful for. If you would like to sponsor his effort you can do so by visiting this website.

Holidays!

The summer months allow us the opportunity to take a selection of young people on residential holidays all over the country. Last month Tim, Ella and Charlotte organised a fantastic trip to Cleethorpes for Liam, Lauren Lucy and Christopher. Trips to the beach, dinner out at the pub and trips on the steam engine made it a fantastic few days away for this group. Tim even celebrated his 41st birthday there!

Calum, Dawn and Jade took Leah, Siobhan, Clorelle and Isla to Scarborough for the weekend and had an absolutely fantastic time. They spent long (very sunny) day’s at the beach as well as visiting the rides and fish and chip shops! All four young people had a fantastic time and really got a lot from the adventure.

Pub Quiz

June saw Crocus Fields hold it’s first ever pub quiz fundraiser in the embankment pub. Compared by none other than Andy Hodkin we managed to raise over £200 for a sensory garden for the unit. We were delighted to have a parent join us for this event and hope that in future events we will be joined by even more. A massive thank you goes out to Lucy Hall for organising this event. Not only did it raise a lot of money for Crocus Fields but it also helped further embed us in the local community.

Crocus Fest 2!

After the huge roaring success of last years inaugural "Crocus Fest", on August the 17th we are going to throw another big party at Crocus Fields for all the young people, their families and the staff team! This is the second year we will be organising this event and its aims are to help bring families together and for you to meet a wider selection of the staff team. There will be free food and face painting as well as a raffle, music and games!

If you have any questions about the event do not hesitate to get in touch and ask!

Race for Life

A massive congratulations must go out to team Crocus Fields for completing the Race For Life in June. Roared on by the crowds our young people, completed the 5km course in record Crocus Time and did so with a fantastic attitude and smiles on everyone’s faces. This is the third year in a row Crocus Fields have been represented at the Race For Life and is a great achievement from all involved. Thank you to Yeolander, someone and someone for organising such a fantastic day out.

The Great Nott’s Bike Ride

Not quite satisfied with one big sponsored community event, but Crocus Fields was also represented at this year’s Great Nott’s Bike Ride. For the fifth year running we had two young people complete the 25 mile course throughout the Nottinghamshire countryside. Jamie and Vicki absolutely loved the day and deservedly picked up their finishers medal at the end. A big thank you to Dawn and Frankie for supporting both young people round the (very hilly) track and ensuring we are an ever present face of the event!
