Merry Christmas Everyone!
On behalf of everyone at Crocus Fields I would like to wish all of our families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The festive period is one of those very rare occasions where (emergencies aside) we actually shut up shop for a few days.
There will be no one in the building from 12pm on Christmas eve until the afternoon of Thursday 27th December. If you have any enquiries during this time, you can email someone to pick it up upon our reopening, contact the Whole Life Disability Team on 0115 8838266 or if your enquiry is an emergency and out of normal office hours you can phone the emergency duty team on 0115 8761000.
Thank you to everyone who sent in cards, letters and chocolatey presents for the team. They have been shared by all (although some more than others!).
Presents Galore!
Crocus Fields have been lucky enough to receive a large donation of presents for the second year running!
We will be keeping some of the gifts for extra toys at Crocus Fields but also want to ensure that every single child who comes to the service gets to keep one. We will throughout the next month or so allow each child that comes in the chance to pick a toy to take home. Alternatively if you would like to pop in with your child and pick one this is ok also!
Feel free to pop in at any point and get one of the staff to tick your childs name off the big present list!
Ofsted Inspection
Last week saw us undergo our annual two day Ofsted Inspection. These inspections give us our overall rating of Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate and the reports are available to read both on the Ofsted website and our very own Crocus Fields site.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, families and partner agencies who took their time to talk to Ofsted about your experience of using Crocus Fields. It makes a massive difference to the inspection and helps us understand what we are good at and how we can improve.
We are unable to report the outcome of the inspection until it has been through a full quality assurance. However we can say that everyone was delighted with how the inspection went and look forward to sharing the report with you in the New Year.
Telescopes for Crocus Fields!
Crocus Fields were put in touch with a fantastic organisation called Scopes4SEN ealrier this month whose main aim is to enable people with disabilities to engage in star gazing!
They very kindly donated two telescopes for the unit! One heavy solid telescope and another novice light weight scope! These are brilliant pieces of kit which we would never have been able to afford without their help.
If you would like to know more about the organisation or if you can think of another organisation that would benefit from a donation, you can visit their website!
The telescopes are being set up this evening and photographs of us using them will be available in due course.
