Autism in Pop Culture

One of the things we pride ourselves on at Crocus Fields, is raising awareness of autism and disabilities through exposure and integration in the local community.

Autism in particular is becoming more 'mainstream'. There is a greater awareness of ASD in society as a whole, which is subsequently filtering into popular culture.

This awareness recently surfaced in the Star Wars franchise (which I was particularly excited about).

Here is a clip of the latest episode of 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch' on Disney+.

The clip all but confirmed the character 'Tech' as Autistic, which fans had believed for a while. This was later confirmed by Dee Bradley Baker, who voices all of the clone characters in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch and Rebels: The Bad Batch fans react to seeing themselves in Tech (dorksideoftheforce.com)
