Family Day's!
In 2018 we organised a number of family days where we invited all of our families to an event as a way of you meeting each other and having fun! Last year we had group of families join us at The Savoy Cinema (January '18), Nottingham Forest (February 18) and a huge number of you celebrate in our garden for "Crocus-Fest 2018" in August!
Following on from last years success, Jade and Maxine have organised another family day on the 12th May where we have rented out the entire screen at The Savoy and will be watching "Wonder Park"! Tickets are £5 per person and available from Crocus Fields. It would be great to get as many families there as possible. All staff and their families have also been invited.
And later in the year, on Thursday 30th May at 3pm Crocus Fields will be holding a "Wildlife Workhsop" animal experience in Unit 1 garden. This is open to all families, young people and siblings! A worker called Brendan from Wildlife Workshops will be bringing in frogs, lizards, snakes, rabbits, spiders, chinchilla's and hamsters for the young people to look at, learn about and (if they're brave enough) hold.
The below photo is of a young person accessing the wildlife workshop who was brave enough to handle one of the snakes!
But for any parents not feeling brave enough to handle or even get near the animals, there will be cake, coffee and tea available for everyone. It would be great to have as many of you there as possible and don't hesitate to get in touch if you need to ask anything.
Food-Bank Appeal
A huge thank you goes out to everyone that has contributed to our food-bank appeal, but in particular to our master organiser Brenda. Our first donation is really taking shape and we have a good amount of goods to give away next month.
We will be continuing to collect food items for the food bank as the year goes on and periodically donate a batch of items to the bank. If you would like to help us in this quest we would be very grateful! Just send in the items with your child on their next stay and drop a note in their diary that it is for the food-bank.
Parents Group
And finally we wanted to bring your attention to our latest parents group meeting which is scheduled for Thursday 25th April.
As always, everyone is welcome at this meeting. you can say as much or as little as you want within these meetings. The meetings are chaired by our Assistant Manager Lucy but are very much led by the families. We often have themed discussions but also regularly have general meetings which gives you the opportunity to discuss anything you like. This month we will be visited by "The Women's Centre" who are coming to talk about the services they offer.
Those who attend the groups say it has been a great opportunity to meet others and find out new information.
As always fresh coffee, tea and nice snacks are also free! Hope to see you there.
