I am one of two Unit Managers at Crocus Fields and share my job with Jo.
I have worked at Crocus Fields (in various capacities) since 2007. I initially came on a 70 day Social Work placement and fell in love with Crocus Fields immediately. It is an environment that is full of positivity and fun and I am always happy to come into work.
After finishing my 70 day placement I became a relief worker at Crocus Fields. I have also spent a year away travelling and worked for 18 months as a Transitions Worker in the County Council. I returned to Crocus Fields as an Assistant Unit Manager in June 2013 before starting in my Unit Manager role in September 2016..
In my job I try to ensure that Crocus Fields continues to be a brilliant and fun place for young people. I also try to make sure that Crocus Fields continues to improve year on year and offers new experiences for our young people.
I love my job because I get to see the young people I work with every day and you can build fantastic relationships with them. I like Crocus Fields because everyone cares for the kids and each other. I really enjoy working with families and helping make a difference to their every day lives.
I am originally from the Isle of Man and moved to Nottingham upon starting my Social Work degree in 2006. I am currently studying for a Masters in Autism at Birmingham University.
I am an avid Stockport County fan and regularly travel by car, rail and bicycle to see us lose all over the country!
I love music festivals and attend Glastonbruy each year. My favourite bands are The Beatles, The Kinks and The Arctic Monkeys.
I love cycling and running and have completed marathons in Amsterdam, Berlin and Dublin.
I love working at Crocus Fields. I can't think of anywhere I would rather work!
