Unit Manager of Crocus Fields
I am one of the Unit Managers of Crocus Fields. I share my job with Jo due to the fact I've semi retired.
I have worked at Crocus Fields since 1991 which is a very long time but what fun we have had. I have managed other residential homes too and have been looking after children and staff since 1974.
In my job I try to ensure that everything that happens at Crocus Fields is in the best interests of the children. I help to develop the service and the staff and have to keep all the senior managers informed of how good Crocus Fields is. I have to spend a lot of time on the computer and in meetings.
I am a fully qualified social worker and also have some management qualifications These help me to do my job.
I like my job because every day is different. I can contribute to helping families stay together and influence services to disabled children.
I like Crocus Fields because The young people are great. I sometimes get a hug from the children when I come in and the staff team are Fun and dedicated.
I am good at getting things done and helping others to be the best they can be. I can motivate staff and can put in to action ideas. I can always see the positives and am good at managing people.
I am also good at windsurfing when I don't fall off!
I love my family and we spend lots of time together. I also love travelling to far away places and having adventures. I will try anything as I think experiencing new things is exciting and fun but not bungee jumping...
My christen faith is also very important to me and helps me to be the person I am.
