Hi all, my name is Shomara and I am a Children's Residential Social Care worker at Crocus Fields 🙂
I developed my passion in supporting children and young people when on work experience at school . This passion has enabled me to work in various different settings, such as mainstream, special schools, nurseries, family support and behaviour support service. In addition to this, I have obtained a FDA in Early Childhood studies and a BA Hons in Early Childhood studies with practitioner status. This has enabled me to relate theory to practice.
When I am not at Crocus fields, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends visiting parks and cooking. Being a mum of two I am always busy!
I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the young people that access short breaks.
I love spending time with my friends and family, reading, gardening (I'm a certified plantaholic) and I love to grow, especially if it is something I can cook afterwards! I like listening to Radio 4 and getting out in the fresh air walking the dog.
My ambition is to learn to horse ride, become a better photographer and walk the circumference of Scotland with a donkey (possibly not all at the same time). In the meantime I'm happy roaming the world in my 1972 Porsche blue Beatle.
